Scout was the founding member and inspiration for Blue Roan Ranch. We first met Scout at a wonderful local riding program. She was sold to her previous owner by an unscrupulous person who advertised her as a kid-safe, 12 year old, quarter horse. Upon veterinary exam it was determined that she was in her late 20s or older. The youngest human member of our family had fallen head over heels in love with Scout and we decided that she should live out the rest of her life with us. Little did we know that Scout would be the driving force behind finding a property for our ranch and founding the sanctuary.
Scout lived to be over 30 years old here at the sanctuary. She would great us with excited nickers everytime she saw us and she particularly LOVED Comet. We miss her more than words can express.
